A Snyder hair salon that was displaced by a late December fire has found a new home in Amherst.

Salon Le Beau, which had been one of the tenants in a Main Street building gutted by a Dec. 28 fire, has acquired a 1,354-square-foot former dental office at 2107 Kensington Avenue. Salon Le Beau paid $159,000 for the property, according to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk's office.

"It is really a perfect fit," said Ben Schiller, a broker with Pyramid Brokerage Co. of Buffalo, who handled the deal. "It is a good alternative use for the property."

The Main Street building where Salon Le Beau used to be based is in the process of being restored and upgraded by its owner, developer Bruce Levine. The Amherst Industrial Development Agency, last month, approved an incentive package for Levine that will help with the restoration effort.
