Two area companies - one in Erie County and the other in Chautauqua County - have been approved for state aid as part of respective expansion plans.
Empire State Development will provide separate $100,000 capital grants to StudentVoice LLC and Inscape Inc.
Together, the companies will invest a combined total of $3.35 million, retaining 103 existing jobs and creating an additional 45 full-time positions.
StudentVoice LLC, located in downtown Buffalo, provides assessment and consulting services to colleges and universities nationwide. It has doubled staff and anticipates continued growth over the next three years. The expansion calls for a $350,000 investment its Ellicott Street location and the addition 20 more jobs to its current staff of 37 full-time employees.
StudentVoice was founded in 2001 at the University at Buffalo and now has additional locations in Washington, D.C., Boston and Denver.
Inscape (NY), Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of movable wall systems for the commercial office industry, is acquiring and renovating a building it currently leases in Falconer in order to turn the location into a customer-centered showcase in which the company demonstrates its products. Inscape, headquartered in Canada, will invest $3 million for the purchase and renovation of this building, as well as the acquisition of new machinery and equipment.
ESD said Inscape will add 25 jobs over three years and retain 66 full-time jobs.
In addition to the $100,000 state grant, the company will receive $305,000 in Empire Zone Investment Tax Credits.
