Southern Tier Brewing Co. sells 30 craft beers in more than half of the U.S. states and exports to Europe, Japan and Southeast Asia. Now, the company is in the middle of a $7 million, 40,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse expansion in Lakewood, near Jamestown. A report in this week's Business First says, right now, annual output is about 20 million bottles. After the expansion, it will reach about 50 million bottles. Officials say they've had to hold off on some distribution and now they'll be able to reach more markets.

It's not quite golf season in WNY yet, but a Buffalo company is ready to hit the links. A report in this week's Business First shows how OnCore Golf will make a national launch at the PGA merchandise show later this month. The company hopes to get a slice of the $1 billion golf market with its patented hollow metal-core ball. The product dates back to the former Nanodynamics, that went out of business. OnCore also made a pitch to local investors at the WNY Venture Association. The goal is to raise funds for a global expansion. OnCore golf balls will soon be in more stores, including big box retailers.
