It's a big week for Buffalo's New Era Cap Company, as customers buy the new line of NFL headwear.
On April 1, New Era kicked off a new era, as the official cap of the NFL. New Era has been gearing up for this moment for years as it worked to land the contract.
For the past 18 months, after landing the contract, New Era employees got to work on the new designs. Officials say they've added jobs and continue to hire more employees. Meanwhile, the corporate headquarters on Delaware Avenue are undergoing renovations to accommodate all the changes. Corporate communications manager Dana Marciniak, and Buffalo Bill Arthur Moats, expect fans to embrace the new look.
"What people see on the sidelines and what they'll see the rest of the season is going to be vastly different than what you've seen before," Marciniak said. "And I think people are going to be excited about it."
"To have an opportunity to support my team, the NFL, and to be able to support New Era, it's definitely exciting," Moats added.
The new NFL draft caps are now for sale at retail sties to tie in with the NFL draft later this month. New Era came up with three caps for each team. They say they will get player input as they ad more lines.
