Some changes are coming to Main Street in Downtown Buffalo. Two newly renovated properties that date back to the 1800s are up for sale. Developer Roger Trettel has put 515 and 523 Main Street on the market with Hunt Commercial Real Estate. They're listed at $395,000 and $495,000. The developer tells Business First he will take on more downtown projects. Business First says these buildings represent the rebirth of the "500 block" from East Huron to Mohawk.
In health news, if you want to get fit, team up with your co-workers. A special report in this week's Business First looks at the benefits of employee wellness programs. The report says one in three Americans is overweight and obese workers are less productive.
Local companies like Geico are seeing success with Weight Watchers, but only 17% of employers offer fitness and nutrition programs.
Prinicpal Financial Group says the most in-demand wellness benefits are on-site activities, then fitness center discounts, followed by on-site screenings to prevent illness and then access to wellness experts like nutritionists.
