Online company You and Who is looking to spread the idea of "shopping with meaning."
You and Who is the lucky winner of the Crowley Webb 25 hour workday contest. Marketing communications agency Crowley Webb will create an ad campaign for You and Who in a nonstop 25 hour workday in January. More than 40 businesses entered the contest and more than 15,000 votes were cast in just weeks. You and Who won with 47 percent of the votes.
You and Who is an online business that sells t-shirts and winter hats. For every item sold, a matching item is donated to help those in need. "Daily, we give donations to people in need, much needed donations at that, so to receive a much needed donation of our own, of this kind, is just incredible," said You and Who communications director Katie Krawczyk. "It's a great feeling."
You and Who is now in 32 cities. If you haven't heard of them yet, chances are, you will soon. "Our biggest problem is that not enough people know about what we're doing," said You and Who founder Dan Gigante. "Everyone that learns about it loves the idea so winning this contest is great because we need the help of the marketing firm to help us spread the message and they do it in a great way."
You and Who created a Facebook app to solicit votes and increased their own Facebook fan base by 15 percent during the contest.
