D'Youville College has named two new high-ranking officials:
• Edward Cogan has been named associate vice president of operations, according to a college news release.
Cogan will be in charge of planning, implementing and maintaining services and programs at D'Youville. He will be the senior administrative officer for planning and coordinating major long-term campus projects. He will direct department operations, facilities maintenance and assist in developing the college's facilities master plan.
Cogan, who was director of facilities at Canisius College for seven years before joining D'Youville, replaces the retiring Donald Keller. Cogan was also president and general manager of the Buffalo office of Jones Lang LaSalle, an international financial and services firm specializing in real estate, director of facilities at the Culinary Institute and has held various operations and property management positions with NYNEX.
• Kathleen Christy has been named vice president of institutional advancement, effective Jan. 1, where she will be responsible for all fund-raising activities from private sources and alumni for the college.
Christy has been executive director of the BISON Scholarship Fund, a tuition assistance program for low-income children, since 2001. She held the same position at the Western New York Grantmakers Association and has also been the regional marketing coordinator for the Private Clients Group of FleetBoston Financial Group and director of development for Buffalo General Hospital.
Christy is a founding member of Girls on the Run - Buffalo and chaired that organization's board for two years. She is also a member of the St. Amelia Home School Association.
