Canada - A Canadian government agency has announced a new study of the effects on wind-turbine noise on human health.
The St. Catharines Standard says the review will be undertaken by Health Canada.
Environmental groups are calling for a moratorium on turbine construction until a decision comes from the study group.
"The federal government recognizes that there is insufficient scientific evidence about the adverse health effects of industrial turbines," said Neil Switzer, chair of the West Lincoln Glanbrook Wind Action Group. "We need a moratorium until the facts are sorted out."
