Buffalo Bills new head coach Doug Marrone made quite an impression yesterday at the Bills' press conference. Here's what Business First got from the introduction: Editor Tim O'Shei says Marrone is a delegator, who will hire experienced NFL coaches for play calling. Marrone also came across as a team-builder. He's following an age-old business practice of "know what you own before you make any changes" to the team. And he's a planner. Batavia Downs Casino hit the jackpot in 2012. Its 640 video lottery terminals generated more than $45 million last year in net winnings. That's up 13 percent from 2011. The facility has enjoyed at least four percent growth every year since opening in 2005. An expansion is now in the works.

Buffalo native John Kennedy Kane was a guest on Katie here on ABC yesterday. It was Katie Couric's birthday so her show was filled with surprises. Kane is ringmaster of the Big Apple Circus in New York City. He brought several acts to entertain Katie on her special day. Kane became well-known in WNY as Kandy Kane, the world's largest elf, at the annual Festival of Lights on the Erie County Fairgrounds.
