The Buffalo area needs a baby boom to move up in a new study. A new On Numbers report looks at which areas of the country have the most children. About 27% of the U.S. population is under age 19. Erie County is a bit behind at less than 25%. Researchers used figures from the U.S. Census. They found that 10 of the 50 U.S. counties with the biggest percentages of preschoolers are in North and South Dakota. Researchers say the Dakotas are seeing an economic boom, thanks to drilling for oil and natural gas. Though many of the areas there are still some of the poorest in the country. Some areas in Alaska also stand out for a large proportion of children. You can access the full report at:

The Made in America store is planning its third annual 9-11 tribute concert. The Elma store opened in April 2010. The goal was to re-capture the spirit of American manufacturing, selling only products that are 100% American-made and creating American jobs. The owners say the annual patriotic party supports the growing movement. The free two-day event will be held Friday and Saturday, September 7th and 8th from 11am to 9pm both days.
