National Restaurant Chain Eyes Buffalo

Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc. is targeting the Buffalo area for expansion, according to Business First. Company officials tell Business First they are close to wrapping up a deal with a Buffalo investment group. Checkers already has locations at the Buffalo airport and on the NYS Thruway. Company officials say they want to add multiple locations in WNY, noting that Buffalo is an attractive market because it is a down to earth community that meshes with Checkers. Exact locations have not been announced, but Checkers is known for drive-through restaurants near shopping centers and malls.

WNY is showing off its milk mustache! The Upstate Niagara Cooperative is made up of 360 family owned dairy farms in WNY. Their goal is to get products from cow to consumer with everything from milk to ice cream. The co-op won national awards this year for buttermilk, cottage cheese and yogurt. Upstate Farms' farmers are gearing up for the Erie County Fair where many show off their cows and sell their products at various stands
