Faster Internet Service on way to WNY

Time Warner is kicking off a fiber optic network upgrade. A report in this week's Business First says Western New York is one of several regions tapped by Time Warner for the better service. Company officials say they will invest more than $6.5 million in the upgrade in WNY and more than $100 million nationwide. The technology is aimed at commercial clients, but residential subscribers will also benefit with more bandwidth. The project should be finished by the end of the year.

Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel is ready to celebrate its 10 year anniversary with a $10 million project. Business First says the casino and hotel will undergo a series of renovations. The Thunder Falls buffet will undergo a complete makeover. It seats 400 people and construction crews will add forty more. The new restaurant will have a European market style with more exhibition cooking stations. The report says the restaurant will have to shutdown for up to six weeks, beginning in late october.
