The typical resident of the Buffalo area is 40 years old -- to be precise, 40.3 years old.
That's according to a new study by On Numbers, from the parent company of Business First. Researchers looked at 942 areas and ranked them by median age, that's the midpoint, with half the residents older and half younger. The Buffalo area, which is Erie and Niagara Counties, is the 226th-oldest area in the country, with a median age of 40. The median age for the U.S. is 36.9 years. The oldest area is the Villages, Fl, near Orlando. Its median age is 61.4, the highest in the country. The youngest market is Rexburg, Idaho, home of the Idaho campus of BYU. Its median age is 23.3 years.

Sahlen's Hot Dogs are now the official hot dog of Buffalo Bisons games at Coca-Cola Field.
The two sides reached a five-year partnership. Sahlen's will be served throughout Coca-Cola Field, including all concession stands, private party areas and in Pettibones. Officials with the Bisons say they try to have local foods at the park and Sahlen's has been part of WNY for more than 140 years. You can enjoy one of the official hot dogs for free, on Saturday, March 3. That's when the team hosts the annual family day open house at noon.
