Batavia is scrambling to try and find a replacement for Lowe's. Earlier this week, Lowe's announced that it will close the Batavia store in one month. Now Business First says the Genesee County Economic Development Center is looking for a new big-box retailer to occupy the site and move in as soon as possible.

Buffalo company Beyond Ghosts is busy this time of year. Paranormal investigators lead ghost tours at the Central Terminal, the Naval Park and at Old Fort Niagara. A report in this week's Business First shows how many nonprofit groups are using the ghost hunts as fundraisers. Historic sites offer great haunted locations and the organizations can make some money in a unique way. several ghost tours are scheduled this month. You can read more in this week's Business First.
