Wegmans Food Markets Inc. has applied to the New York State Liquor Authority seeking clearance to sell liquor products at one its in-house pubs in Central New York.

The Syracuse Post-Standard reports that Wegmans wants to sell wine, beer and mixed drinks to patrons at a café in a DeWitt, a suburb of Syracuse.

A spokeswoman for the Rochester-based grocer said no other licenses are being sought for stores in that area.

Wegmans already operates establishments that sell liquor in Pennsylvania and Virginia.
