Sleep Industry is Awake and Expanding

Two sleep-related businesses are awake and kicking off expansions on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Sleep Medicine Centers of WNY operated out of Millard Fillmore Gates for twenty years. A report in this week's Business First shows how the closing of the hospital offered a new opportunity for a more modern operation on the medical campus, designed like an upscale hotel. Sleep Medicine Centers has eight locations for testing and treating of sleep disorders. It's also looking to expand into Central New York.

Meanwhile, Apnea Care, Inc., which supplies sleep and respiratory products, is opening a new retail site on the medical campus. It is also expanding into Dunkirk. It also three other local retail sites.

A report in this week's Business First uncovers hidden secrets at the central library in Downtown Buffalo. There are original works from Galileo, Charles Darwin, Sir Isaac Newton and more, right in Buffalo. The Milestones of Science collection.has nearly 200 items, covering everything from human development to the solar system and gravity. The report says a Buffalo lawyer started the collection in the 1930s. A 75th anniversary celebration is planned for next year.
