If you are shopping online today, you're not alone. The National Retail Federation says nearly 123 million Americans plan to shop on Cyber Monday this year, up from the 106.9 million who shopped on Cyber Monday in 2010.
The NRF says 78%, nearly eight out of ten retailers, are offering special promotions today. Retailers say consumers expect the absolute best online holiday deals on Cyber Monday, which is the online equivalent to Black Friday.
The majority of consumers, more than 87 percent, say they will use computers at home for Cyber Monday shopping. Sixteen percent admit that they will shop online from a work computer. Researchers say 14.5 percent will shop from mobile devices like phones; that figure has tripled in recent years. About one percent will use a computer from the library or maybe a friend's house to do their holiday shopping.
