Business First is out with its annual Top Private Companies list. Rich Products tops the list with 2010 revenues of nearly $3 billion. Rich's employs 1,300 in WNY and 8,000 around the world. The global food manufacturing company was founded in WNY in 1945. President and CEO Bill Gisel describes Rich's as family-oriented, authentic and engaged. Rich's is listed as a best employer nationally.
After Rich Products, Delaware North is second, with $2.3 billion in 2010 revenues. Osmose Holdings ranks third. Tripi Foods in Buffalo ranks 4th with $434 million in revenues and New Era Cap is close behind at number five.

Researchers at Buffalo Rheumatology are studying the effects of vitamin D, in a new scientific study. Lack of Vitamin D can give you the blues, along with achy muscles, weakened bones and a weak immune system. Pinnacle Research Associates is looking to enroll 310 men and women, who are vitamin D deficient, in the study. You can read more about taking part in this week's Business First.
