Private-sector jobs continued to rebound across New York state in the past year and the Buffalo market added to the increase.

The state Department of Labor said Thursday that the Buffalo metropolitan area added 2,400 jobs as of April compared to the same month last year, a growth rate of 0.4 percent.

Rochester was again the biggest gainer among Upstate New York metros, tacking on 7,800 private-sector jobs in the year-over-year period, a gain of 1.5 percent.

The monthly report said since November 2009, New York state has added 335,100 private-sector jobs and regained all such jobs it lost during the recession.
