A new Chicago sports store, located inside the home of the Chicago White Sox and developed by Delaware North Cos.' Sportservice, is slated to open by mid-November.

Construction crews are putting the final touches on the two-story, 13,000-square-foot Chicago Sports Depot that is being built in U.S. Cellular Field. Buffalo-based Delaware North began work on the store in May.

Delaware North was selected by the White Sox because of the company's close ties with the American League franchise. Delaware North's Sportservice division handles all the retail operations for the White Sox.

Delaware North has been working with the White Sox for 65 years in various retailing roles.

"I am confident that this will be one of the premier retail experiences for fans in all of sports," said Rick Abramson, Delaware North Sportservice president.

The store will not only feature White Sox merchandise but also items from all of Chicago's professional and collegiate sports teams.

"We hope it will become the preeminent sports retail destination for fans of all teams in the City of Chicago," said Brooks Boyer, White Sox senior vice president of sales and marketing.
