BUFFALO, NY - It's getting tougher for hotel developers to land incentives from industrial development agencies. A report in today's Business First says developers could seek incentives for at least eight local hotel projects, including the Courtyards by Marriott at Canalside. This week, the Erie County Industrial Development Agency came up with new proposed rules for hotel incentives, saying the project must meet certain criteria like having impact on convention bookings or offering re-use of existing properties. Officials will likely vote on the changes August 20th.
