So many people are shopping via their phones this year that New Era Cap Co. has a new mobile website. It's a special site to handle the growing number of online purchases via cell phones and other devices. The site is m.neweracap.com. A report in today's Business First shows how it uses geo-segmentation, where New Era targets regional customers with the products they are most likely looking for. New Era's snapback caps are popular in certain areas so those customers will see messaging about those specific caps. The mobile site is based on location and caps are showcased based on which city the visitor is in. New Era says its web traffic and revenues have increased about 40 percent each month, since last year, as the company personalizes the shopping experience.
