The Fourth of July is tomorrow and Americans are ready to celebrate their independence. They'll be spending green to don red, white and blue.

The National Retail Federation says more than 160 million people, that's about 68% of Americans, will participate in holiday festivities. 65% of those celebrating own American flags. About half own patriotic clothing and 33% own decorations. The NRF says gas prices shouldn't impact spending this year. The 4th of July is a federal holiday so many people have the day off from work tomorrow.

Here's a look at how they will spend that day off. Cookouts, BBQs and picnics top the list of activities. About half of those celebrating will head out to see fireworks. Many fireworks displays are wrapping up right now, with more planned for tomorrow.

15% say they will go to parades. 13% will head out of town to celebrate. And ten percent will take part in other activities.
