A longtime Buffalo bakery is celebrating a sweet anniversary. E.M. Chrusciki Bakery, which has been part of Buffalo's Broadway Market for decades, is marking one year at its second location in Lancaster.

E.M. Chrusciki says its roots remain at the market, but a suburban location provides a brand new facility for wholesale orders, along with a second retail operation. Ania Gurnari and her family run the bakery. She says the first year has been such a success in Lancaster that they would consider more future expansions..

"Lancaster is pretty centralized," she said. "No one knows, maybe in the future, we'll have some more outlet stores we're definitely thinking about it because customers will say, 'come to Hamburg, come to Niagara Falls or Lockport!"

E.M. Chrusciki specializes in Polish pastries like Angel Wings that they sell in supermarkets through the wholesale division. The bakery is also known for gourmet desserts, cookies and more. They even started a new line of wedding cakes that is taking off.

Of course, E.M. Chrusciki is gearing up for its busiest season, which is Easter. They will have multiple stands open at the Broadway Market to handle holiday crowds.
