A hotel across the border in Canada is getting new life. Business First says the former Stanley Inn will become Niagara Falls' first Wyndham Hotel. The Stanley Inn was once a landmark hotel on Stanley Avenue in Niagara Falls, Ontario. It's been vacant for more than five years. Now developers are investing $7.5 million to renovate it. It should open next year as a nine-story, 152-suite hotel. It's located in the city's Fallsview Business District, near the new Scotiabank Convention Centre. Developers say the new convention center is a huge draw and helped spur the development.

The confidence of young business leaders around the world is eroding, according to a report in this week's Business First. It cites a survey by the Young Presidents Organization. The group's global confidence index fell 3.3 points to 58 in the third quarter. That's the lowest level in about two years and it was the third straight quarter that members expressed less confidence. Top executives in Europe have the lowest confidence. Asian CEOs had the highest level.
