Job Seekers Turn To Facebook

BUFFALO, NY ( Business First ) A report in this week's Business First shows how the Labor Department is teaming up with Facebook to launch a new social jobs partnership. The goal is to make it easier for people looking for a job to hook up with employers looking for workers. The Facebook page includes links to employment services and an up-to-date national database of job openings at more than 90,000 employers. Organizers say 90% of recent college grads and employers already use Facebook and other social media.

Perry's Ice Cream will use Facebook to remember the Blizzard of '77 with customers. Perry's Blizzard of '77 flavor, "Zero Visibility," is returning to retail stores. You can find it starting this week to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the storm, which is in January. Perry's makes it every five years. Back in '77, Perry's was also a wholesale milk distributor and delivered milk to those in need.
