Seneca One Realty wants to build a new ten story tower next to HSBC Tower. A report in today's Business First shows how it's all part of an effort to keep anchor tenant HSBC Bank USA in the 38-story HSBC Center. The bank is considering real estate options. Its lease expires in three years. The report says the new tower would house a variety of HSBC operations and create a banking campus. The project is conceptual at this point. It would require HSBC to remain a tenant and to move some operations to Buffalo.

Kaleida Health wants to put a building next to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. The hospital itself underwent construction just a few years ago. Now a report in today's Business First says the latest proposal calls for a 60,000-square-foot building next door. Kaleida has sent a request for qualification proposal to the region's major developers and they are due back in July. Business First says it could cost $12 million and is pending approvals so construction is at least one year away.
