Home Sales Slip, Prices Rise

The Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors says median home prices jumped 15 percent in April to $115,000, the highest figure for April on record. Average prices jumped 9 percent, topping $125,000, also a new high for April.
But April transactions did drop 3 percent compared to last year. However, pending sales are up.

Price Rite will open its third area store this Sunday, on Walden Ave. in Cheektowaga. Price Rite has two other locations, on Elmwood Avenue and Kenmore Avenue.

Buffalo Place's annual farmer's market kicked off today, Thursday, May 20. The market will run every Tuesday and Thursday through the end of October. Meanwhile, Buffalo Place officials tell Business First they are looking for unique food vendors for Downtown Buffalo streets this summer, something other than hotdogs.
