BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- Call it the "luck of the Irish" as an Irish pub in South Buffalo dishes up publicity for the City of Buffalo.
The Blackthorn Restaurant and Pub will be featured on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" tonight at 10pm. Host Guy Fieri and his crew were in Buffalo in August to film multiple episodes at various Western New York restaurants. The Blackhthorn, which is on Seneca Street in South Buffalo, will will kick off the excitement with a party that begins at 8 p.m. More area restaurants will be featured in upcoming episodes.
In Downtown Buffalo, there may be a buyer for the Calumet Building at Chippewa and Franklin Streets.
Business First says the law firm Kenney Shelton Liptak Nowak, along with developer Angelo Natale, put the building under contract. It's been on the market for nearly a year, with a listing price of $775,000.
The NFTA says Buffalo airport traffic slipped 3.4 percent in 2009, after a record year in 2008. 5.3 million passengers used the Buffalo airport last year. Southwest Airlines handled the most passengers, but American had the biggest jump in passengers. Delta and Airtran lost the most passengers.
