Tourism is expected to take off when an airplane convention comes to Buffalo next year. Buffalo has been selected to host the American Bonanza Society's annual convention. The group has 10,000 members, owners and pilots of Beechcraft Bonanza airplanes which is one of the most popular aircraft in the country. 150 aircraft are expected to fly in for the event next September. The economic impact could top $400,000. Buffalo was chosen over Sacramento and Kansas City, thanks to a deal from the Convention and Visitor's Bureau and Prior Aviation.

Buffalo State College is looking to save construction dollars with tax exempt bonds for its $55 million dorm project. It calls for a seven story dorm at Rockwell Road and Grant Street. A report in this week's Business First shows how Buff State is working with Buffalo and Erie County Industrial Land Development Corp. to help secure tax exempt bonds. The bonds could save the school about 15% in construction costs. A public hearing is slated for next week.
