Developer Rocco Termini is behind the project to reuse AM&A's. Now he has some new support from an influential partner. A report in today's Business First says The Hamister Group Inc. has signed an agreement with Termini to develop a 117-room hotel at the site as part of a proposed $70 million renovation.
The Hamister Group is expected to bring a national hotel chain to the AM&A's
building. The Amherst company has relationships with the Marriott and Hilton chains but no brand has been secured. The project also calls for apartments, a food court, banquet hall and office space. The project hinges on several factors, including public-sector incentives. You can read more in Friday's Business First.
