Do you think you have that next big business idea? The 17th annual Straight Talk will be held Saturday to help you get that idea off the ground. It is designed by the Small Business Administration as a one-stop shop for all your small business needs. It's for new business ideas or for small businesses that want to expand. Entrepreneurs will learn about business basics, credit, taxes and more.
Frank Sciortino is the regional director for the SBA. He says there are many success stories from Straight Talk and he hopes to see more. "We have one now that came seven years ago and began manufacturing a product they now sell. It's very successful," he said. "Several people have gotten their start: construction companies, cleaning companies, you name it. The whole gamut of businesses have come to Straight Talk and have been successful."
After Saturday's program, the training for entrepreneurs continues with weekly in-depth seminars to help boost small business.
The fee for Straight Talk is $20 for advance registration or $25 at the door. It is free for veterans and students get a discount. The event runs from 8am to 12:30pm at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. You can get more information at www.WNYStraightTalk.org or find a link at wkbw.com, under News Links.
