Genesee Gateway Lands Two Tenants

Two new tenants are moving into a Downtown Buffalo development. Winthrop Financial and Pratt Collard Advisory Partners will both call Genesee Gateway home. The two companies are investment advisory firms, being formed from teams from Harold C. Brown and Company, which announced plans to close last month. The new firms will take about 4,000 square feet of space at Genesee and Oak. Genesee Gateway is home to other tenants like the U.S. Passport office.

A report in this week's Business First says Evans Banks is looking to grow its customer base, with the message that community banks are a viable alternative to a big bank. Evans Bank has 13 branches in two counties and deposits are up after a new marketing campaign to raise awareness.

Passenger counts at the Niagara Falls Airport tripled in September, topping 5,500 outbound passengers. The numbers barely hit 1,800 during September 2010. But Direct Air has grounded plans to fly to San Juan and Nassau from the Falls. Business First says it is due to delays in securing aircraft for longer-distance routes.
