Yahoo! Announces Hiring of 115 Employees at Lockport Location

Internet giant Yahoo! announced Thursday its plan for a $170 million investment and the hiring of 115 employees in their Town of Lockport Datacenter.

The announcement came after Yahoo! submitted an Application for Industrial Development Agency.

According to Paul Bonaro, Facilities Manager for the Lockport Yahoo! Datacenter, the company seeks to construct another 15,000 square-feet of space for a datacenter and customer service center. operation on the 13 acre site it purchased by the IDA in December of 2012.

The Lockport IDA voted to hold a public hearing on the Yahoo! application on April 25th at 9 a.m. at the Lockport Town Hall. There, the scope of the project will be explained and the IDA incentives under consideration will be presented.
