BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - A report in today's Business First looks at the need for such a facility. Right now, about 2,600 students are enrolled in 28 veterinary colleges in the U.S. Developer Chason Affinity Cos. says nine applications exist for each vet college opening.

Two new vet colleges will open in coming years, outside NYS and Cornell University is kicking off a $22 million renovation that will allow it to accept more students. The report says the structures at Gates Circle already exist and make the local project a possibility.

The project would take two to three years to develop. The report says Chason has spoken with Medaille about possibly being an academic partner.

Sales are heating up for Buffalo company Coolture that sells fashionable cooling vests. They are used by people with chronic diseases whose bodies overheat.

They are also used by recreational athletes, outdoor workers and more. The vests are made in Buffalo and sold at Sheridan Surgical and online at http://coolture.net/.

If you know someone making a difference in the community, under age 30, nominations for the new Business First 30 under 30 recognition are due Sept. 12.
