Kandy Kane from the Festival of Lights is now clowning around in the theatre. John Kennedy Kane is known to many as a clown, a ringmaster or circus performer like fire eater!

Now WNYers are lining up to see him in his one man, one act play, which is a comedy, called "My Life in the Basement." He tells his life story of growing up in the basement.. pursuing his dream of joining the circus..

"I lived in South Buffalo. We had a park in front of us and a playground behind us so it should be a fun childhood," he said. "I spent my whole childhood, in fact until I was 18 years old, in the basement playing with my circus and my memorabilia and posters. So I was joining the circus there was no question about it!"

Kane fulfilled that dream, days after graduating from high school. Now, thanks to the play, he has been chosen to serve as Ringmaster of the upscale Big Apple Circus in New York City, which is popular with many Hollywood stars.

Before Kane leaves for New York City this summer, he has three performances of his play scheduled. They are set for June 1, 2, 3 at the Blackthorn Restaurant & Pub in South Buffalo.
