Canadian buses are pulling into the Buffalo Niagara region this week. The Ontario Motor Coach Association is holding its annual conference and marketplace. This is the first time in its history, the association is holding the conference in the United States and not in Canada. 600 people are here for the event. The immediate economic impact is pegged at $883,000. But the long term pay off is exposing the city and region to key personnel in the growing tour bus circle.
Last night's Major League Baseball game did not end in Delaware North's favor. The San Francisco Giants beat the St. Louis Cardinals by 9-0 in the NL Championship Series. Delaware North was rooting for the Cardinals since the Buffalo company's Sportservice division handles concessions in St. Louis. The bright side? Sportservice handles operations in Detroit, for the Tigers, so the company will still play a role in the World Series, just not at both parks!
Business First is out with new administrative efficiency ratings of 430 upstate school districts. Researchers say Lancaster runs the leanest public school system in Upstate New York, followed by Arkport, Frontier, Williamsville and Hamburg. You can get the complete list at bizjournals.com/buffalo.
