Symposium looks at New York oil and gas development

A Sept. 21 shale gas symposium will address potential environmental and socioeconomic impacts of oil and gas development in the Appalachian Basin with a New York twist.

Presented by the Buffalo Association of Professional Geologists, the 2012 Western New York Geological Symposium will be held at Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

This symposium is titled "Shale Gas - Development Potential and Lessons Learned." The full-day event will feature 12 speakers who will address shale gas development. Exhibitor space and sponsorship opportunities are still available.
