Niagara Falls Celebrates Valentine's Day

Many people are celebrating Valentine's Day at the honeymoon capital of the world.
Travelocity listed Niagara Falls in its list of top 14 romantic hotel deals. The list features the best places to say "I love you!" Niagara Falls, Ontario is listed at number five, with Travelocity featuring the Embassy Suites by Hilton. Travelocity says its team of experts looked at locations, deals, reviews and overall hotel romance to find the perfect list for a Valentine's Day getaway. Niagara Falls, New York can also benefit from such attention with visitors who want to stay on this side of the border.

Chocolate shops are very busy today. Alethea's Chocolates kicked up production for Valentine's Day in January. The Williamsville business got its name from the founders' great grandmother from Greece, who was known for her homemade confections. Today, Alethea's still follows that tradition with fine chocolates, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor and a busy website.

Amazon is out with its list of the top 20 most romantic cities in the U.S. Knoxville, TN comes in first, followed by Alexandria, VA. Then many nearby cities make the list. Pittsburgh ranks 11th, while Erie, PA ranks 14th and Rochester ranks 19th. There's no mention of Buffalo on the list. Amazon based the survey on sales data of romance novels and relationship books, along with romantic movies and music since January first.
