The annual Business First real estate issue is on news stands this week. It takes a look at real estate deals from across WNY over the past year and it looks at what money can buy you in various communities. The median price for a home in the Town of Amherst is $156,000 with an average 57 days on the market. It will take 62 days for a home to sell in Buffalo on average, but the median price is only $58,000. The median sale price in Clarence is $233,000 with an average 140 days on the market.
The report also shows that the trend in downtown living continues with vacant buildings that date back to the 1800s or early 1900s being revitalized for residential and commercial space. The former Corn Exchange building, now 100 South, on South Elmwood Avenue is complete after a $5.5 million renovation. Most of the apartments were rented immediately. More development projects are in the pipeline to create additional downtown living space.
