Synacor adds online gaming partner

Synacor Inc. has a new partnership with online game company Arkadium, which will allow its vast library of online games to be extended to millions who visit the Buffalo company's Internet service portals.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Synacor (NASDAQ: SYNC) provides startpages and web sites for cable, satellite, telecom and consumer electronics consumers to watch TV from phones and tablets. Arkadium's games include Trizzle, Mahjongg Dimensions and Sparks, which will be available on the consumer portals. Currently, more than 20 million use portals to access premium content, news, email, support and other services from a central, customized hub.

According to a joint statement from the companies cited an industry report - "The Video Gaming Industry Outlook," online casual gaming is on the rise, and that revenues are expected to reach $10.3 billion by 2014. Synacor's partnership with Arkadium points to both companies' combined interest in satisfying consumer demand for games and entertainment.

More than ten million consumers worldwide play Arkadium's games every month on the web, mobile devices, Facebook and Windows 8.
