It’s a real-life version of the ABC hit show “Shark Tank.”
Today, state officials met to announce the launch of 43 North, Buffalo’s largest business competition.
“Five-million dollars in prizes, and a one-million dollar top prize for the best business plan,” said Lt. Governor Robert Duffy. “It’s a really tremendous opportunity to bring new business here.”
43 North gets it’s name from the Latitude line that runs through the region. The plan is part of Governor Cuomo’s Buffalo Billion project.
“If you come to Buffalo with new ideas, we guarantee you are going to have a success story,” said Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz. “We’re going to be working united as one to create a better future for not only your business but for each and every one of you.”
The first round of applications begins today. Finalists will be able to present their business plans to a panel of selected judges in Buffalo in October.
