Ruth's Chris Steak House has arrived in Niagara Falls, Ont.
Ruth's Chris has opened in the Four Points by Sheraton in Niagara Falls' Fallsview business district, not far from the Fallsview Casino & Resort and the ScotiaBank Convention Centre.
The Four Points by Sheraton invested nearly $4 million, converting a former pool area into the 12,400-square-foot, 382-person restaurant. The hotel, formerly the Renaissance Fallsview Hotel, recently switched to the Four Points by Sheraton brand with Ruth's Chris being central to the conversion.
Following a "soft opening" period, a formal grand opening is set for this spring at the hotel.
Ruth's Chris is one of the most sought after upper-end restaurant chains. At various times, the Winter Park, Fla. chain was courted for several sites in Erie and Niagara counties, but no deals ever materialized.
The publicly-traded Ruth's Chris has 150 restaurants worldwide, including ones under its own name as well as affiliated Mitchell's Fish Market, Mitchell's Steakhouse, the Columbus Fish Market and Cameron's Steakhouse.
Ruth's Chris has two Toronto-area restaurants plus locations in Calgary and Edmonton.
According to its recent third quarter filing, the chain's parent company, Ruth's Hospitality Group Inc., reported revenues of $84.8 million, up from $80.2 million reported during the same period last year.
The Ruth's Chris chain was founded in 1965.
