Buffalo ranks 40th in April's On Numbers Economic Index, up from 39th in March. Last August, Buffalo ranked 52nd. Strong home values are behind that performance. On Numbers researchers say the price of a typical home in Buffalo Niagara is up almost 7% since 2008. That's a small percentage of overall farm production in the state, but still represents a 268 percent increase in just 11 years.
