A celebration of the spirit of entrepreneurship and strong work ethic that small business owners embody, Small Business Week will be observed from May 7 – 11, 2012.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and I believe the key to our economic resurgence here in Buffalo and Erie County,” said Poloncarz. “A top priority of my administration is to promote job creation and economic development; as such, I am working to do all I can to ensure our small businesses not only survive but thrive.”
“Small businesses are the engines that drive our economy,” added Sciortino. “Nationally, they employ tens of millions of people, not only creating new jobs but retaining jobs as well. Small business owners represent a proud tradition of private enterprise, which we are celebrating this week.”
