New Hockey Retailer to Open in WNY

10,000 people showed up for the Buffalo Sabres scrimmage earlier this week proving that WNY is a hockey town. That's evident to retailers like Pure Hockey, a massachusetts company that will soon open an Amherst location. A report in today's Business First says Pure Hockey signed a lease with Benderson Development for a store on Sheridan Drive. The report says Pure Hockey is a fast-expanding sporting goods chain. The store will be the chain's 16th location. It should open by April.

A report in today's Business First says area heat transfer companies are spending millions on upgrades, increasing contracts.. and looking to hire­ right now. The report says companies like Xylem, in Cheektowaga,
Niagara Blower and Niagara Thermal Products are exploring new markets like alternative energy systems. Many are finding new opportunities in natural gas processing, refineries and power and solar plants. You can read more in today's Business First.
