Seneca Resources Corp. is the wholly-owned exploration and production subsidiary of National Fuel Gas. It has completed six new Marcellus shale wells in PA. National Fuel officials tell Business First they are very productive wells. In hydrofracking, crews inject water and chemicals deep into the shale formation to release gas. You saw the announcement here yesterday on Eyewitness News. Business First is backing a new "Hire Buffalo and WNY" program, which is designed to add jobs. If every business in the Buffalo area hired just one unemployed resident, 22,000 Buffalonians would be back to work. A similar program in Atlanta put 13,000 people to work in just six months. Employers can register online at www.city-buffalo.com/hirebuffalo or find a link at wkbw.com, under News Links. Once you make a hire, Business First will recognize your company. Their site is bizjournals.com/buffalo.
