AMHERST, NY (WKBW) - An offshoot of a Blackstone Group affiliate acquiring the Motel 6 chain has led to a Amherst hotel being sold.
Blackstone Real Estate Partners VII this past May bought the Motel 6 and Studio 6 hotel operations from Accor SA, a French-based hospitality industry behemoth.
The ripple effects from that deal saw the 93-room Motel 6 on 4400 Maple Road changing owners. The motel remains open and uneffected by the corporate-level change.
According to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk's Office, Glasjar Property LLC -- the corporate entity that owned the Motel 6 -- sold the building to G6 Hospitality Property, a Dallas-based entity that is managing most of the Motel 6 and Studio 6 properties around the country.
The sale price was listed as $2,717,201, plus another $14,965 for a small adjoining Maple Road parcel.
