A report in this week's Business First says, through the first half of the year, traffic at the Buffalo airport is down more than 10 percent. The numbers are from the NFTA and are blamed on mergers in the airline industry, which cut some flights out of Buffalo. Outbound service from Niagara Falls is up more than 10 percent. That airport is serviced by two low cost carriers.

Roswell Park Cancer Institute plans to open an expansion clinic in West Seneca. A report in this week's Business First says the hospital filed plans with the state to open a clinic on Orchard Park Road near Ridge. Roswell would offer services five days a week. This would be the third WNY site outside the City of Buffalo for Roswell, which already operates in Wheatfield and in Amherst. The West Seneca clinic could open soon after state approvals.

This week's Business First features a list of largest hospitals in WNY, based on the number of licensed beds. ECMC tops the list with 569 beds, followed by Buffalo General at 548. Mercy Hospital is third, then Sisters of Charity. WCA in Jamestown ranks 5th. You can get the complete this in this week's Business First, in the Healthcare Guide.
