NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WKBW) - For the first time in its history, patrons of the Maid of the Mist boats will be wearing something other than its iconic blue ponchos.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, those riding the boats on the weekend of Oct. 19th to 21st will be given pink ponchos featuring both the Maid of the Mist logo and the breast cancer awareness logo.
"In some way, everyone has been touched by breast cancer," said James Glynn, Maid of the Mist Corp. president and CEO.
"We're happy to do our part to increase awareness about breast cancer and support efforts to develop a cure for this disease."
On the evening of Oct. 19th, Niagara Falls will be illuminated in pink light, in support of breast cancer awareness.
